چکیده

Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma is an aggressive malignancy with histologic variability depending on where in the world it diagnosed, most of these cancers occurring China and other parts Asia. Previous studies cytotoxic chemotherapy combinations led to a plateau median overall survival approximately 10 12 months, as well need for more effective treatment options. Cytotoxic served control arm 3 that evaluated safety efficacy immunotherapy + versus alone; all prospective randomized trials, addition resulted benefit first-line relapsed/metastatic setting. Data support regimens new standard-of-care systemic therapy options unresectable, locally advanced, recurrent or metastatic esophageal cancers, have now been incorporated into NCCN Guidelines.

Nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel combined with cisplatin as the first-line treatment for metastatic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

Esophageal cancer is a major health hazard in many parts of the world and is often diagnosed late. The objective of this study was to explore the efficacy and safety of nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel (Nab-PTX) combined with cisplatin (DDP) in patients with metastatic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Patients with histologically confirmed ESCC were treated with Nab-PTX 250 mg/m(...

New treatment options for metastatic renal cell carcinoma

During the last decade, the treatment of advanced or metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC) was revolutionised with the advent of antiangiogenic drugs and tyrosinekinase inhibitors. Several agents targeting the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) pathway (sunitinib, bevacizumab, pazopanib, axitinib) or the mammalian target of rapamycin pathway (temsirolimus, everolimus) were since then pro...

The Cancer Stem Cell Hypothesis in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A New Target for the Treatment

Within a single tumor clone, cells have significantly different abilities to proliferate and form new tumors. This has led to the hypothesis that most cells in a cancer have a limited ability to divide and only a small subset of distinct cells, the cancer stem cells (CSCs), has the capacity to self-renew and form new tumors . It has been proposed that the development of tumors is based exclusiv...

Squamous Cell Differentiation in Metastatic Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma: Metaplastic

Squamous cell differentiation (SCD) may occur in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) only at metastatic sites. We have studied cytokeratin CK5/6 and P63 along with TTF1 (thyroid transcription factor 1)  and B-Raf (V-Raf murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog B1) immunohistochemical expression in neck lymph node metastases of thyroid PTC showing SCD. The patient (21-years) presented wit...
